Awesome Designers at Southbank & Marina Quays

This weekend Ethikl ventured out to visit the new markets at Hope Island’s Marina Quay’s and was surprised to find a great permanent market with a really diverse range of producers from the quirky vintage style jewellery and other tempting treats at Hungry Designs to the stunning silver jewellery by Mystic Silver which is made in Peru.

Next I sampled some delicious organic orange juice and some very unusual, but very yummy baked lime and chili olives from Coolana Olives. I had to have some to take home that afternoon with some vintage cheese and a glass of wine. One of the joys of searching for brilliant artisans to be on the ethikl site is getting to sample all the great produce.

Finally, on Sunday, I was dazzled by the swirls of colour at the Southbank Designer Market, especially Boomshankar’s fair trade bags and magical blend of textiles that are antique and contemporary, eastern and western, cool and funky. I am always awestruck by the beautiful work that people can produce, especially the very original Caitlin Rowe who made these unique measuring tape flower brooches. How delightful!

  1. Hi there, I'm glad to hear you went to marina quays market.... But you missed our stall..IT is a real shame you missed out on seeing our eye catching product... The Tornado Potato... They are a great new concept that is still up and coming in australia. But we are the first on the gold coast to show off this great new idea... You were so close when you were visiting Amanda at Hungry Designs. But i do hope you will visit us next time you come to our wonderfully diverse market... Regards Josh from Stik It...
